Plant Upgrade in Sunny Slough
Mechanical Movements have been enjoying the sunshine in Berkshire, lifting equipment into a specifically designed extension to the main AkzoNobel offices in Slough.
The steel frame construction was created to house the new plant for the building. Then using a 60tonne mobile crane and our bespoke lifting platform, we carefully lifted and manoeuvred into position 4no. Air Handling Units (AHU), each up to 3 tonnes in weight.
We were instructed by the engineering consultants to manage the lifting operations on this very busy site. To ensure the safety of pedestrians and reduce disruption to vehicles using the site, we set up a fenced exclusion zone in the carpark, positioning the crane inside of the boundary and carrying out all our lifting activities within it.
The extension can now be completed by the contractor, with the new plant situated in its final location within the steel framework.
