Towering in Tower Hamlets
Using a 300ton crane, Mechanical Movements were on hand to lift and assemble a 6ton generator at a 10-storey office building in Tower Hamlets last week.
Having delivered the components to site flat packed, they had to be lifted individually due to the restrictive 45m crane radius and weight limitations. As we lifted the generator sections to a load-bearing roof level scaffold platform, starting with the base frame, we carefully assembled the unit in place.
Using skates, sleepers and jacks we finally lowered the generator down by 1m and manoeuvred it into the final position within the 10th-floor plant room.
