New Systems Operational for Online Grocery Store
Two of our specialist teams headed to Hertfordshire over the weekend to carry out essential works, removing and replacing cooling systems within the Ocado offices in Hatfield.
Using a LTM1060 crane, we carefully removed 8no 350kg dry air-cooling condensers from the roof plant room, before installing 2 newer units which have higher efficiency.
Whilst one team conscientiously carried out the crane works, another group of our outstanding operatives began removing 6 downflow units, each weighing 450kg. These units are vital for cooling the servers and cables which run under the flooring within the comms rooms.
Due to restricted access on the first floor, we separated and flat packed the plant before meticulously manoeuvring it through the building, and once the redundant parts had been removed, new downflow units were transported and installed in the live server rooms.
Despite having to move through an occupied office to carry out the works, our experienced operatives caused minimal disruption throughout the whole project, allowing the Ocado staff to carry out their essential role of feeding the nation.
