Out With the Old in With the New

Mechanical Movements have been working at 2A Southwark Bridge this week for Edge DBS.

Using the building’s own on-site tower crane, we completed Phase 1 to remove 4 redundant chiller units atop of this 12-storey commercial tower in London. In order to meet the load weight restrictions of the site crane, we first had to safely drain and remove the refrigerant from the chillers in-situ, before braking each unit down into smaller sections that could then be lifted off the roof to our removal teams at road level.

Phase 2 then required us to lift the 4 new Climaventa replacement chillers, weighing 3.2 tonnes each, carefully into their places ready for connection.

Another lifting project safely and successfully completed, and another happy customer.
