Successful Major Lift Operation at 1 Triton Square ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ—๏ธ

Weโ€™re proud to share the successful completion of a major lift operation at 1 Triton Square, expertly delivered over the course of three days and nights by the Mechanical Movements team.

Using a 650-tonne LTM1650 crane equipped with 180 tonnes of counterweights and a 72m luffing jib, we executed a series of complex lifts with precision and care โ€” including a mammoth 15-tonne lift at a 70-metre radius!

The operation kicked off on Friday evening with road closures and crane rigging, progressing into the early hours of Saturday. Lifting began on Saturday morning, with key components including:

๐Ÿ”น 2 x packaged plant room sections (9 tonnes each)
๐Ÿ”น 2 x air source heat pumps (ASHPs) (15 tonnes each)
๐Ÿ”น 2 x buffer vessels
๐Ÿ”น 25+ pallets of acoustic enclosures (2 tonnes each)
๐Ÿ”น 10 sections of strobic extract fans
๐Ÿ”น 4 x cable drums (2.5 tonnes each)
๐Ÿ”น 1 x dry air cooler (1 tonne)

All lifts were executed using bespoke lifting gear and spreader beams, specifically designed to lift the heavy ASHPs and plant room components.

We also utilised a 120-tonne crane to assist with the unloading and assembly of each section of the Luffer. The crane sat securely on 8×100-tonne safe working load mats, ensuring stability throughout the operation.

Safety was paramount. The site was fully enclosed with Harris fencing, public zones were safely barriered, and a comprehensive traffic management plan ensured minimal disruption in the surrounding area.

De-rigging began promptly after lifts concluded, wrapping up in the early hours of Monday morning.

๐Ÿ‘ A huge congratulations to our incredible team โ€“ your expertise, planning, and dedication ensured this project was delivered flawlessly. Well done!
