Clear Skies for Swiss Cottage Plant Removal

Mechanical Movements have been carrying out this hefty plant removal project at the Swiss Cottage Library in a very sunny Camden.

Working for M&E contractor Ergro, the removal was the first stage of a two-part commission at the property, removing redundant equipment from multiple plant areas across the roof of the Grade II listed building, including 2no chillers, 3no air handling units, 6no condensers and 2no extract fans.

We carried out the work using a sturdy Spierings AT-4 crane at a 44m radius, as the heaviest of the chillers weighed in at a sizeable 2000kg.

To complete the project safely and efficiently, we were required to take full control of road traffic management, which our experienced team carried out by implementing partial road closures to minimise pedestrian and vehicle disruption within the busy London location.

Our team look forward to returning to Camden in the next few weeks to complete the installation lifting works for the replacement plant.
