Contract Lift in the Capital City
London was the place to be on Sunday, with around 42,000 runners completing the renowned London Marathon, the capital city was bustling. Just north of mile 24, Mechanical Movements were engaged in their own challenge, carrying out a complex contract lift at Porters House, Islington.
Using an AT6 mobile tower crane our team carefully conducted the first stage of works, lifting 1no AHU into the rear lower ground plant room within the commercial property. The AHU was split into 3 manageable sections, with the heaviest section weighing 2170kg.
Following the completion of the ground-level works, our hard-working team shifted their focus to the top level of the building, diligently lifting 4no condensers into the roof plant room before manoeuvring them into their final positions.
As the marathon route was located so close to the works, stringent traffic control was essential to minimise disruption to the surrounding area, which was consequently being used as a diversion route for the marathon road closures.
This proved no challenge for our expert operatives who have extensive experience in London traffic management, and a two-way traffic system was implemented throughout the day.
