Another Weekend in Westminster

Mechanical Movements returned to Westminster last month to complete an important chiller changeover project within a historic building located on King Charles Street, London.

Using our reliable artic and rigid lorries, our movement specialists successfully delivered all plant to site. Navigating the congested roads surrounding the area was no challenge for our proficient team and a small road closure was implemented outside the picturesque building, allowing for works to be carried out safely whilst causing little disruption to the busy live environment.

Once the redundant chiller had been removed from roof level, our outstanding operatives fabricated and installed new steel work to hold the new equipment.

A 300tonne crane was rigged onto bog matts and spreader pans, distributing its weight evenly across the road, and once correctly positioned, this specialist equipment was used to efficiently lift the new 12 tonne chiller at a 19m radius. Using an assortment of bespoke lifting equipment, the new chiller was conscientiously manoeuvred into its final position.
